Embracing God’s Design in Marriage
“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate." - Matthew 19:5-6
As someone who has walked the difficult road of divorce, these words from Jesus hold a special meaning in my heart. I used to wonder if marriage was too fragile, if the vows I made could ever truly last. But God's Word reminds me that marriage is a sacred, divine union, designed by God from the beginning.
When I remarried, I was overwhelmed with gratitude for the miracle of a new chance, and I pray every day that I’ll continue to cherish this marriage as God’s gift. I’ve learned that marriage isn’t just about being together; it’s about becoming one flesh, partnered in love, trust, and humility; and always striving to honor the covenant God has joined.
Today’s society often promotes easy breakups and shortcuts, making it challenging to uphold marriage as a divine gift, something worth fighting for through every challenge, misunderstanding, and hardship. God’s design is for enduring love, rooted in His grace and strength.
My encouragement to you:
No matter your past, if you’re married now, remember that your union is sacred. It’s an ongoing journey of forgiveness, patience, and grace, one that reflects God's unwavering love for us. And if you’ve experienced loss or failure, know that God's mercy is new every morning, and He’s a God of restoration.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of marriage and for Your divine plan that makes love sacred and lasting. Help me to cherish this bond and to reflect Your love and grace in my marriage. Forgive me for the times I’ve fallen short, whether in my past or present, and give me strength to walk forward in faithfulness. Remind me daily that my marriage is a sacred trust and a testament to Your love. Thank You for new beginnings. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
No matter what we’ve been through, God’s design for marriage remains steadfast. His love and grace can restore, renew, and strengthen every union committed to Him.
🚨SPOILER ALERT🚨: My personal testimony is coming soon as I open up my heart to share “hard-fought hallelujah” with you all.
