Growing in Love and Faith

"May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you." — 1 Thessalonians 3:12

Paul offered a prayer for the believers, an urgent prayer for love to grow and overflow. Love is the foundation of our walk with Jesus. When love increases, it changes everything; our relationships, our attitudes, and even how we witness.

In this verse, Paul prays that the love among believers would not just grow but overflow, spilling out into the world around them. This kind of love reflects Christ’s heart, a love that is patient, kind, forgiving, and sacrificial.

Love that overflows is contagious. It positively impacts families, communities, and our entire world. When rooted in God’s Spirit, our love becomes a testament, proof of His transforming power working within us.

Are you allowing God’s Spirit to increase your love, both for fellow believers and those far from Him?Remember, love that overflows begins with hearing His Word, praying, and actively choosing love, even when it’s difficult.

Pray: “Lord, help my love to grow and overflow. Teach me to love as You love, with patience, kindness, and humility.” Seek out someone to bless or encourage, love in action fuels your faith and impacts others. Be intentional to show love, in words, actions, and attitudes, so His love flows through you to a hurting world.

Love is the mark of a true follower of Jesus. When your love increases and overflows, you reflect His character and draw others into His glorious kingdom.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the gift of love. I ask You to cause my love to grow and overflow, not just for those around me, but for everyone You place in my path. Fill me with Your Spirit, shape my heart with genuine love, and help me be a living testimony of Your grace and mercy. Use me today and every day to reflect Your love and bring hope to the world. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
