Living with Integrity Before God
"On the contrary, we speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please people but God, who tests our hearts." — 1 Thessalonians 2:4
Our primary purpose as followers of Christ is to please God, not people. Paul’s words in 1 Thessalonians 2:4 challenge us to examine the motive behind our actions; are we living to be approved by others or to honor our Creator?
God, who tests our hearts, knows every motive, every thought, and every action. Living with integrity doesn’t just mean doing right externally; it means an inward alignment with His truth and a desire to serve Him faithfully. When we seek to please God, we’re entrusted with the precious gift of the Gospel, our lives become a reflection of His love.
Our approval must come from the Lord. His test is absolute.,He measures the intent of our hearts. When our motives match His, everything we do becomes a clear testimony of Christ’s love and truth.
Are you seeking to please God in your decisions, your words, and your actions? Rest in the knowledge that pleasing God is the highest honor. When your heart is aligned with His, He will entrust you with more opportunities to serve and shine His light.
Spend time in prayer asking God to examine your heart. Choose to act with integrity, even when no one is watching, knowing God is testing and shaping your heart. Say: “I aim to please God, because His approval is the only one that truly matters.”
Your life is a reflection of your heart’s devotion. Living to honor God aligns your life with His purpose, and He will use faithful hearts to be powerful testimonies for His kingdom.
Prayer:
Father, I thank You for testing my heart and shaping me into the person You desire. Help me to live with integrity, focused on pleasing You, not people. Fill my heart with Your Spirit, and guide my actions so they honor You all my days. Teach me to serve faithfully, knowing You see and love me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
