We are Precious in His Sight
“But Jesus said, ‘Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.’” - Matthew 19:14
Oh, how our Jesus loves. If we could all find it within ourselves to love as He loves, what a difference that would make.
In this verse, the disciples had just scolded the parents for letting their children bother Jesus. But, in the eyes our sweet savior, children are precious. He commanded the disciples to let them come near. Why? Why after preaching all day would he want to be bothered by children? Because to Him, it was not a bother. Just as it is not a bother to Him when we come to Him with humble, trusting innocent hearts, like children. When we are following God’s Word, trusting in its truths, believing in His power and walking the walk, we are pleasing in His sight. When we are repentant of sin and trusting His plan for us, we make Him happy. I can’t think of anyone I’d rather make happy than our gracious God.
Let us humble ourselves before Him, repent and turn away from our sinful nature, trust in His Word and follow His example. He will be made happy at our sight!
Prayer:
Most Precious Heavenly Father, make in me a pure heart. Remove all things of this world and fill me with You. Please forgive me of my sinful nature, as I strive to turn away from it and follow your plan for my life. Thank you, God, for loving me so much that you provided a way for me to be cleansed of my sin and be in your presence. Thank you for my sweet Jesus. Thank you for our salvation in Him. I love you, God, and may what I do bring honor and glory to You. Use me, mold me and make me into what You would have me be. I give my life to you today and every day, God. It is in the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
