Putting God First
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." — Matthew 6:33
Life’s true significance begins when we prioritize God's kingdom above all else. The world constantly pulls us in different directions, toward success, possessions, status, and self-interest, but Jesus calls us to a higher standard: to seek His kingdom and His righteousness first.
When our hearts set their gaze on God's purposes, everything else begins to fall into alignment. Our worries about daily needs, relationships, and future plans are transformed when we place our trust in His provision. His promise is remarkable: When we seek Him first, He promises to meet all our needs.
Seeking the kingdom isn’t just about acts of service; it’s about aligning our hearts and priorities with His will. It means loving what He loves, living according to His Word, and trusting He will supply according to His perfect timing and purpose.
Start each day asking the Lord to help you seek His kingdom and His righteousness today. Live intentionally. Make choices that reflect God's values, love, and justice. Trust that as your heart seeks Him, everything else will come into order: peace, provision, and purpose.
Living in pursuit of His kingdom brings order to our lives. When we put God first, we step into His blessings, His peace, provision, and presence that surpass all understanding.
Prayer:
Father, I surrender my priorities to You today. Help me to seek Your kingdom and Your righteousness above all else. Fill my heart with longing for You, and teach me to walk in Your ways. Remind me that when I put You first, everything I need will be added unto me. Guide my steps, strengthen my faith, and fill me with Your peace. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
