Approaching God with Boldness and Faith
“On the third day Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the king’s palace, in front of the king’s hall. The king was sitting on his royal throne in the hall, facing whoever was standing there... When he saw Queen Esther standing in the court, he was pleased with her and held out to her the gold scepter that was in his hand. So Esther approached and touched the tip of the scepter.” — Esther 5:1-8
Esther knew the risks. Approaching the king uninvited could mean her death, but she also recognized that her purpose to save her people was greater than her fear. Her willingness to stand boldly before the king reflects her trust in God's sovereignty and favor.
Esther’s story reminds me that God often calls us to step out in faith, into situations where we might feel powerless or afraid. Yet, when we approach Him with humility and courage, trusting in His grace, He is the King who welcomes us with open arms. Esther’s boldness opened the door for divine intervention, showing us that even in our weakest moments, God's favor can turn the tides.
Her act of approaching the throne teaches us that prayer and faith are not passive, they’re powerful acts of trust. We may not always see the full outcome, but our obedience and faith can open doors to God's miraculous work.
I encourage you to approach God with boldness and trust. When you stand before Him in prayer, believe that He is pleased with your faith and will hold out His grace and favor. Whatever your situation, know that your King is waiting to meet you and work on your behalf.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that You welcome us into Your presence with love and grace. Give me the courage to come before You boldly, trusting that You hold out Your favor and blessing. Help me to remember that when I step out in faith, You are with me, working all things for my good and Your glory. Strengthen my heart and increase my trust in You today. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
